Neil Vogel is CEO of About.com, assuming the role in April 2013. Before joining About.com, Neil served as the CEO of Recognition Media, launching, acquiring and growing media and awards properties such as the Webby Awards, Internet Week NY and Europe, the Netted.net daily email, and The Telly Awards. Neil co-founded Recognition Media in 2004.

Prior to Recognition Media, Neil was part of the senior management team at Alloy Media + Marketing, a digital content and marketing services company focused on the teen and youth market. There he served as Chief Corporate Development Officer from 1998 until March of 2003 and played an integral role in taking the business from start-up to more than $300 million in revenue and $50 million in cash flow in fewer than five years.

Neil also serves as a venture partner at FirstMark Capital.

Neil received a B.S. in Finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
