Called a "Pioneer of Diversity" by Diversity Journal, Michael L. Wheeler has been recognized globally for nearly three decades of Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) thought leadership and accomplishments as a corporate executive, author and entrepreneur. He has worked extensively with Fortune 500 Companies, government and not-for-profits. As Chief Diversity Officer at Omnicom Media Group and Director of Global Diversity & Inclusion for Merck & Co. Inc., he successfully built and led global corporate D&I strategies aligning them with business strategy. As Program Director and Researcher at The Conference Board, he envisioned, built and led the Diversity & Inclusion area of expertise which included authoring seminal research, designing and directing global conferences and launching the nation’s first Fortune 500 corporate executive Council on Workforce Diversity. As an entrepreneur he has launched his own businesses, created The Diversity Performance Factor Project™, the Diversity Performance Factor (DPF)™ model and process and designed The Impact Forum. He also currently serves as President of The Diversity Collegium—a global cross-sector/industry think tank of D&I leaders.
He has been published extensively on the topic of Diversity, cited in newspapers and magazines around the world and appeared on television and radio. He is contributing author to the recently published book, “Diversity at Work: The Practice of Inclusion," as well as author of numerous articles and research.
