Alastair is responsible for IPG Mediabrands' global talent strategy and execution, which he leads with a team of more than 70 HR professionals worldwide reporting to him. Prior to heading up HR at a worldwide level, Alastair was Human Resources Director, Europe Middle East Africa for IPG Mediabrands.

His experience has been shaped by his belief that exposure to a variety of different industries makes for a more rounded HR executive. To that end, he has served in several senior roles in the hospitality, financial services and entertainment industries. Prior to joining UM in 2006, Alastair was Head of Human Resources for Barclays PLC, overseeing their Direct Channels, General Insurance and Home Finance business units. Alastair also spent several years in the music and entertainment industry rising to the Head of Talent and Management Development for Universal Music Group’s International operations; he gained his HR spurs in hospitality, working for Inter-Continental Hotels and Radisson SAS amongst others.
